Estefania Giannini

I am a Biotechnologist and PhD in Biological Sciences enthusiastic about using Synthetic Biology to address real-world challenges. During my PhD, I performed an extensive biochemical and structural characterization of the clinically relevant carbapenemase NDM-1. As a postdoc researcher fellow at Macquarie University, I am currently developing synthetic biology approaches to engineer interspecies symbiotic relationships and study protein-protein interactions. I am also passionate about exploring the potential of fungi as cell factories for contributing to a bio-based economy.
